"A Walk To Remember" Cinema Synopsis:
Each spring in the little port town of Beaufort, North Carolina, when the wind smells of pine and salt and the sea, Landon Carter remembers his senior year at Beaufort High and Jamie Sullivan, the girl who changed his life... Serious and conservative, Jamie is the daughter of the town's Baptist minister and not afraid of letting people know that her faith is the most important part of her life, even if it cost her some friends. After a harmless prank goes terribly wrong, Landon is forced to tutor a young student at a poor school and participate in the Drama Club's spring play - two activities the principal hopes will teach him some humility. They also happen to throw him into close contact with Jamie. Clearly in over his head, Landon is forced to ask her for help. Soon, against his own expectations, Landon finds himself falling in love with this outwardly plain girl who possesses a passion for life he never imagined possible.

"A Walk To Remember" is a powerful, emotional, teen drama with outstanding performances by the two young stars, Mandy Moore and Shane West. Mandy began her career as a teen pop singer but has eased into acting with grace, firstly with a small role in the Disney teen comedy " The Princess Diaries" (2001) and now with a leading role in "A Walk To Remember". In this remarkable film, that is unique among today's more outrageous teen flicks, Mandy Moore puts in a powerful well rounded performance that combines both her singing and acting talents. Her co-star Shane West is not new to the teen genre, having already appeared in two popular teen comedies "Whatever It Takes" (2000) & "Get Over It" (2001). Shane plays the mischievous teenager who falls in love with Mandy and is inspired by her Christian values and sensitivity. A memorable quote by Shane's character to Mandy's minister father is "She makes me want to be different, better". "A Walk To Remember" is based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, and centres on the themes of self-discovery and love. Made on a small budget of $11 million "A Walk To Remember" was a big hit at the American box office, grossing over $41 million. This film should serve as a catapult for both young stars. It is the "Love Story" of the new millennium.
