Teen Musicals have been a popular genre for over 50 years. This page is a special tribute to these wonderfully entertaining films that have had people singing & dancing in the aisles throughout the decades. Take a trip through memory lane as we feature old-time favorites such as Bill Haley's classic "Rock Around The Clock", Cliff Richard's showstopper "The Young Ones" & of course the Fab Four in the unforgettable Beatles classic "A Hard Day's Night". The 1970's introduced us to John Travolta & the mega-blockbuster dance musicals "Saturday Night Fever" & "Grease", while the 1980's introduced us to the first MTV-style dance musical "Flashdance". A fad known as breakdancing also hit the scene in the early 80's with the cult favorite "Breakin" (aka "Breakdance") & its popular sequel "Breakin II: Electric Boogaloo".
In the late 1980's Patrick Swayze became the new dance king with his unique style of "Dirty Dancing" & this was followed by the dance craze known as "Lambada". At the start of the 90's there were two "Lambada" movies made "Lambada: The Forbidden Dance" & "Lambada: Set The Night On Fire". After a small hiatus in the late 90's the new millennium started with a bang. Today's audiences were reintroduced to the dance musical, with the "Fame" style "Center Stage", the Australian foot stomping classic "Bootmen" & the Julia Stiles hip-hop dance drama "Save The Last Dance". One thing is for sure "Teen Musicals & Dance Classics" are here to stay & they will never go out of style.
If all you Elvis Presley fans are wondering why Elvis wasn't mentioned in the introduction above, it is because he is "The King of Rock n Roll" & Elvis made more musicals than any one person on the planet. For that reason he deserves his own page so we have designed one fit for a King. So all you Elvis Presley fans out there don't forget to check out his special tribute page featuring all the Kings movies.
