FILM REVIEW :
Michael Douglas stars as Dr. Nathan Conrad a successful New York psychiatrist. One of his patients, Elisabeth Burrows (Brittany Murphy) has information needed by ruthless criminal Patrick Koster (Sean Bean). When Douglas' daughter is kidnapped, the bad guys demand that he retrieves the information they need from his mentally unstable patient. All of which leads to a violent ending, which takes place in a cemetery on a nearby Manhattan island. The New York locations are used to good effect & help create a tense atmosphere. Michael Douglas is good, as always in the lead role, psychologial thrillers seem to be something of his forte. Young actress Brittany Murphy also makes an impression as the disturbed young lady filled with emotional anguish. Strangely enough the two villains of the 1995 James Bond adventure "Goldeneye" both appear in this one. Famke Janssen plays Douglas' wife while Sean Bean plays the main villain Patrick Koster. "Don't Say A Word" is a nail biting thriller competently directed by Gary Fleder, who had previously made the Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd thriller "Kiss The Girls".
If thrillers are your thing "Don't Say A Word" will certainly keep your attention.
