Quentin Tarantinos fourth film as director is also his first since 1997s Jackie Brown. For those not aware of it, the movie will be released in two parts, allowing Tarantino to tell his entire story rather than facing the possibility of cuts. The film is told in chapters, which neatly accommodates this division into two volumes.
In Kill Bill, Uma Thurman is known, simply, as The Bride. She is on a mission of revenge that allows the director to exhibit his love of old style Asian action movies.
The Bride is an assassin who is shot by her boss and other members of the so-called Deadly Viper Assassination Squad on her wedding day. Awaking from a five-year coma, she resolves to hunt down these killers (played by Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah and Vivica Fox) and to kill them - and her boss whose name, not surprisingly, is Bill (David Carradine).
