"Revenge Of The Nerds" is a hilarious teen comedy that could be best described as a combination of "Animal House" & "Porky's". Over the years the film has developed a cult status and is considered by many to be one of the best of the raunchy teen films that were unleashed to cinema audiences in the 1980's. "Revenge Of The Nerds" was the surprise success of 1984. Made on a small budget of $8 million, "Revenge Of The Nerds" went on to gross over $40 million at the US box office. The key to the film's success was its likeable underdogs, the downtrodden, the bullied outcasts the guys we came to know as the Nerds, who grouped together to fight back against the jocks and sportos who picked on them, put them down and made their every existence a living hell. "Revenge Of The Nerds" spawned the popular big screen sequel "Revenge of The Nerds II: Nerds In Paradise" (1987) and in the 90's two made for TV sequels "Revenge of The Nerds III: The Next Generation" (1992) & "Revenge of The Nerds IV: Nerds In Love" (1994). "Revenge Of The Nerds", although made in the 1980's has not dated and today's teenagers should enjoy the exploits of these lovable characters just as much as previous generations of teenagers. If you haven't seen "Revenge Of The Nerds" you won't know who Dudley "Booger" Dawson is and if your don't know who Dudley "Booger" Dawson " is then you are missing out on knowing one of the most interesting characters of 1980's teen movie folklore.
