"Scooby-Doo" Cinema Synopsis:
Scooby Doo & the Mystery Inc. gang meddle their way into a bona fide mystery that leads them into murky & possibly supernatural waters. Though Scooby's whereabouts are currently unknown, his clever crime-solving cohorts are, as always, on the case.

"Scooby-Doo" Tony's Comments:
Freddie Prinze Jr, complete with bleached blonde hair leads an all-star cast in this big budget, live-action version of the famous cartoon series "Scooby-Doo". A computer generated dog and teen heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr may be the film's star attractions but it is an energetic Matthew Lillard that steals the limelight as Scooby-Doo's faithful sidekick Shaggy. Look out for Australian soap star Isla Fisher (Home & Away) in a supporting role & a brief cameo appearance by former Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson. Even Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) drops in for a rare villainous turn & band Sugar Ray drop by for a quick song. Kids and teens should enjoy "Scooby-Doo" but for those who grew up watching the cartoon on Saturday morning TV in the 70's & 80's should find it a real treat. I am sure fans of the cartoon will agree that "Scooby-Doo" has made a successful transition from cartoon to live-action feature. Although somewhat gross, a comedic highlight for some viewers would have to be the burping contest between Scooby & Shaggy that turns into an all out fart-a-thon. The film's finale sees Scrappy-Doo (Scooby-Doo's little nephew) turn in to the Schwarzenegger of canines and Buffy's, Sarah Michelle Gellar kicks butt "Charlie's Angels" style. I saw "Scooby-Doo" at the cinema with some friends and although the film had its fair share of funny moments, it is hard for me to say whether my friend's on-going commentary throughout the film made me laugh more than the on-screen gags. At the time of writing "Scooby Doo" has become the most successful film to be shot on location in Queensland Australia. It has already grossed over $100 million at the U.S. box office and if a computer generated dog dressed as a woman tickles your funny bone, then this film is definitely for you. All in all "Scooby-Doo's" 85 minute running time, complete with hit and miss gags, zips along at a crackling pace.
