In The Big Bounce, George Armitage, the director of Grosse Pointe Blank, gives us another crime/comedy - this time based on the novel by legendary writer, Elmore Leonard.
Like most of Leonards characters, Jack Ryan (Owen Wilson) operates on the wrong side of the law - not big time, but just over the line. Hes a drifter looking for a change of scene - and luck - and he looks for it on Hawaiis beautiful North Shore of Oahu where temptation is all around him.
Looking to double cross a wealthy developer, Ray Ritchie (Gary Sinise) and his cohorts (Charlie Sheen and Vinnie Jones), Jack teams up with an ailing judge, Walter Crewes (Morgan Freeman) and finds romantic diversion with the seductive, Nancy Hayes (Sara Foster), Ritchies lover and a woman with her own criminal agenda.
Trivia: This is the second time The Big Bounce has been filmed. The first rather disastrous attempt was in 1969 with Ryan ONeal making his feature film debut in the Jack Ryan role.
