* In the mid-90's Tobey made a string of appearances in a number of made for TV movies including, "Spoils Of War" (1994), "A Child's Cry For Help" (1994) & "Seduced By Madness" (1995).

* In 1998 Tobey Maguire was given his first chance at a starring role in a major film when he appeared with Reese Witherspoon in the fantasy-comedy "Pleasantville".

* In 2000 Tobey Maguire got his big break when he was cast opposite Oscar winner Michael Douglas in critically acclaimed comedy/drama "Wonder Boys".

* In 2001 Tobey Maguire beefed himself up a bit in preparation for his demanding role as the comic book superhero "Spider-Man".

* In May 2002 "Spider-Man" was unleashed in cinemas and in no time at all Tobey Maguire became one of the most recognizable faces in the world.

* "Spider-Man" has now become one of the highest grossing films of all-time and the sequel "Spider-Man 2" is already in the planning stages for a 2004 release.
