“Once Upon A Time In The West” is Sergio Leone's masterpiece, an epic western that was critically and commercially successful worldwide. Henry Fonda, who was cast against type as the villain of the piece, heads a star studded cast that includes, Charles Bronson (in a role meant for Clint Eastwood), Italian beauty Claudia Cardinale & veteran character actor Jason Robards. The opening sequence, where actions speak louder than words is a true testament to the cinematic style of Leone's genius. A number of big name stars make surprise cameo's including Woody Strode and Jack Elam who are both killed off when Bronson arrives in town. “Once Upon A Time In The West” is not only a great western but also a real motion picture experience, the haunting music score by Ennio Morricone adds to the impact. Epic in length (165 mins), epic in style, epic in grandeur, “Once Upon A Time In The West” is an epic western in the true sense of the word. Western lovers shouldn't miss this one.
