Peter Gallagher and Daryl Hannah play Michael and Cathy an American couple who go on summer vacation to the picturesque Greek Islands. Emotions take a turn when Lina, a French Archaeologist (Valérie Quennessen) meets and falls in love with Michael. Director Randall Kleiser of "Grease" and "The Blue Lagoon" fame is able to extract very natural performances from the great looking cast. "Summer Lovers" was filmed on location in the beautiful Greek Islands of Crete, Delos, Mykonos and Santorini. The island scenery is stunning and used to great effect throughout the film. The Basil Poledouris music score together with pop tunes by Chicago, Elton John and Tina Turner, add to the exotic atmosphere of this tale about young love.
